The phased withdrawal of Construction Related Occupation (CRO) SKILLcards has begun

Work has commenced by SKILLcard to develop a framework to close the CRO application route and identify paths for those affected occupations to be signposted to an agreed industry qualification for that occupation. It has been reported this week that construction workers across the UK should be prepared to show their cards, with news of an industry-wide card audit planned for Wednesday 8th February 2017.

Further action taken to tackle card fraud

Yesterday Construction News reported on the latest incident of fraudulent skill certification cards within the industry following a CITB investigation, with the individual in question receiving an 18 month jail term and facing deportation.
